Police Regulation Act 1958
Police (Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 2003
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to increase
charges for services provided by members of the
Police Force.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 130 of
the Police Regulation Act 1958.
3. Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on
1 December 2003.

4. Charges for deployment of personnel
For regulation 6(2) of the Police (Charges)
Regulations 19921 substitute—
"(2) The charges are—
(a) personnel resources—charge per
member per hour or part thereof,
including time spent in going from and
returning to the member's station—
(i) Officers $57.70;
(ii) Sub-officers $44.30;
(iii) Other ranks $37.10;
(b) personnel resources in control of
transport—additional charge per
member per hour or part thereof,
including time spent in going from and
returning to the member's station—
(i) Mounted Police $5.15;
(ii) Motor cycle Police $16.50;
(iii) Motor car Police $21.70;
(iv) Motor bus Police $64.90;
(v) Motor boat Police—
single engine $32.00
twin engine $161.70;
(vi) Helicopter Police—
single engine $612.90
twin engine $1760.30.".

5. Charges for other police services
For the Table to regulation 7 of the Police
(Charges) Regulations 1992 substitute—
"TABLE
Service Charge
(1) Collision or Accident
(a) for a search of all relevant police
records to provide a copy of an
accident report and the first 6 pages
of a witness statement $50.50
(b) to provide copies of additional pages
of witness statements in excess of
6 pages
—for each additional page $1
(2) Criminal History
(a) for a search of all relevant police
records except fingerprint records to
provide notification about the
existence of a criminal history $24.70
(b) for a search of all relevant police
records including fingerprint records
to provide notification about the
existence of a criminal history $106.10
(3) Lost, stolen or damaged property
(a) for a search of all relevant police
records to provide a copy of a crime
or fire report $26.80
(b) to process each subrogation notice
provided by loss assessors or insurers
to advise of change of ownership of
property $35

Service Charge
(4) Examination of files in the presence of a
Police member
to supervise the examination of files and
for a search of all relevant police files
—first hour, or part thereof $88.60
—each ½ hour thereafter, or part
thereof $44.30
(5) Interview with a member of the force
about a reported incident or accident
for an interview with a member of the
force including a search of files and
providing information
—first hour, or part thereof $84.60
—each ½ hour thereafter, or part
thereof $42.30
(6) Providing a sworn affidavit
to provide information by sworn affidavit
and for any necessary preparation $41.20
".
