In c la u se 3.2 (Skill St reams):- (a) by deleting sub cl ause (3) and inserting the foll ow ing in lieu thereof:- "( 3) Guest service empl oyee i s d ee med to include any person engaged in a range of duti es associated w ith the provision of accommodation, front office and gene ral gu est servi ces not exclusively associated wit h the provision of food and beve r age. "; and (b) by deleting subclau se (4) and inserting the foll ow ing in l ie u thereof: - "( 4) Clerical and Genera l employees are persons engaged in the provision of support services including but not limited to the clerical functions of the hotel and maintenance and security of equipment and property.". 2. In clause 3.3 (Class ification Structure an d Definiti ons):- (a) by inserting in subclause (3 ) (Gues t Serv i ce) new provisi ons (f), (g}, (h), (i) and tj) as follows: - "( f) (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (v ii) (g) Front Office Grade 1 sha ll mean an emp loyee who has not achieved th e appropri ate level oi tra ining and who is engaged in any of the fol l ow in g:- dea ling with incomin g, outgoing and transferring of telephone calls to the hotel; ta ki ng, recording and booking room reservat ions; chec k- in oi guests, the allocati on of rooms and the control oi guest keys; preparation of guest accoun ts and receiving payment of these accounts; control, checking and summary of bills and do ckets relating to guest stays; night audit functions under direct supervision; providing information to and assist i ng gu ests wit h hotel services . . . . . . . . . . . (2 ) Front Office Grade 2 sha ll mean an employee who has the appropri ate level of training and who is engaged in the front office in duties including night auditing, te lephoni st, receptionist, information servi ces, cash ier or reservations . (3 ) 28 January, 1994] QU EENSLAND GOVERNM ENT INDUSTRIAL GAZETTE 241 (h) (i) ( j) Front Office Grade 3 sha ll mean an employee who has t he appropria te level of training and experience to enable them to ca rry out their ass igned duties under limi t ed supervision and who is engag ed in the front office on duties at a higher level t han at Grade 2 . . . . . . . . . . (4 ) Front Office Grade 4 shall mean an empl oyee who has the appropriate level of tra ining and w ho is engaged in the front office in duties including assist ing in the trai ning and su pervi sion of Front Office employees of a lower g rad e (5) Front Office Supervisor shall mean an employee who has the appropr iate level of traini ng including a supervisory course and who supervises, tra ins and co-ord inates the work of front office empl oyees . . . . . . . . . (6)"; and (b) by deleting provi sions (a), (b), (c) , (d) , (e) and (f) of subclause (4) (Administration and Gen er al) and inserting the following in lieu thereof:- (a) (b) (c) (dl (e) (f) "(4) Clerical and General Clerical Grade 1 sha ll mean an emr l oyee who is re quired to perform basic clerica and office duties of a routine nature such as colla ti ng, fi ling, basic typing, photocopying and de livering messages . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (2) Clerical Grade 2 shall mean an employee who is engaged in general clerical or ofti ce duties suc h as the operation of telephone or switchboard fac ilit ies, typing, basic data en try, computeri sed cas hiering and operation of TAB faci li ties . . (3) Clerical Grade 3 shall mean an employee who has the appropriate level of tra ining and who ca rri es out ge n era l secretarial, stenograph ic or clerical duti es includ ing wo rk processing, data entry or cleri ca l du ti es (including assisting in payroll preparat ion) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (4) Clerical Grade 4 shall mean an empl oyee who has the appropriate level of training and who carri es out general secreta rial, stenographic or cleri cal duti es of an advanced nature including wo rd processing, data entry or cl erical duties (including ass i st ing in payroll) requ iring experience of an advanced nature, and may be respons ib le for guidance of other office perso nn el including ju niors and may check and allocate th eir work . . . . . . . . . . (5) Clerical Grade 5 shal l m ea n an em ployee who has had the appropriate l evel of t ra ining who prepares ca sh payments sum mari es, banking report and bank sta tements, ca lculates and maintains wage and sa lary records , fol lows credit referral procedure s, appli es purchasing and in ve ntory control requ irements, posts journal s to l edge r etc. at a higher level than Grade 4 . Provides detailed advi ce and informati on on the es tab lishments products and services, respon ds to cl ient/publi ds uppli er probl ems w ithin own functional area utilising a high degree of interpersonal skill s. Provides guidance to other employees, may check and al locate wo rk and may supervise staff. Secre tari al - perform in g a broad range of clerical functi ons at a high er level th an Grade 4. Apply computer soitware packages utilisi ng cleri ca l skill s at a higher leve l than Grade 4 . .... . . .. ......... . ...... . . . Clerical Supervisor shall mea n an emp loyee who has th e approp riate level of tra ining including a supervisory course and who is responsibl e for t he su pervision, t ra in i ng and co-ord i na tion of clerical staff ......... . .
