Divisional and Di strict Allowances - Adult employees in the
Mack ay D ivision shall be faid 90c per week and adult empl oyees
in the Eas tern D is tri ct o the Nort h ern D ivis ion sha ll be paid
$1 .05 per week in addi tion to the rat es above pres cribed.
Adult employ ees in the W este rn District of the Southern
Div ision shall be paid $1.05 per week and adull employees in t he
We s1ern D i strict of the Nonhern Div ision sha ll be p ai d $2 .20 per
week in addition to the rates presc ri bed for the correspond ing

(e) Process Employee Level 1
Ski/ls/Duties
• Responsible for the quali ty or their own work wi thin
this level.
W ill be requ ired to have a working knowledge of
company quality systems.
• Works in a team environment.
Indicative of the tas ks which an employee may perform are
th e fol l owing:-
1. Deboning poult ry wit h a knife on a chain or bench,
manual circular knife opera ti on, manual band saw
operation.
2. Product recording, having attain ed the appropriate
industry standard.
3. Quality assistant who h as attained appropri ate industry
quali fi ca ti ons.
4 . Knife sharpening where duties include deboning poultry
with a knife.
(3) Promotional Criteria (A pplicable all levels) - An
emp loyee remai ns at a class ification level until they h ave
developed the skills to allow t he employee to effectively perform
the tasks requ ired at that level and are assessed to be competent
to perform effectively at a higher level so as to enable them to
progress to a higher level position as it becomes available.
( 4) Mixed Functions - An employee who is required to
perform on any day work for wh ich a higher ra te of wage is
presc ri bed, and this is not for the purposes of t ra ining, shall be
pa id as follows:
If more th an 4 hours on any day the higher rat e for t he
whole of such day.
If 4 hours or less th en paym en t of the higher rate for 4 hours.

(6) Casua/s - Casual empl oyees sha ll be paid an addition al
19% per hour, w ith a minimum of 4 ho urs' pay on any day on
which they are engaged.
O ne junior may be employed to every three, or fraction of
three adul ts .

(7) Leading Hands - Employees appointed by the
employer to occupy t he position of l ead i ng hand shall be pa id the

Allowances
11.(1) Emp l oyees required to work in freez ing rooms
shall be pa id 47c per hour extra fo r all time worked in su ch
room s.
The employer sha ll make ava ilable free of ch arge for the use
of each employee working the freez ing rooms adequate protective
clothing .
(2} Forkl ift drivers shall be paid $ 13.88 per week ext ra :
Provided th at this allowance shall not apply to pallet truck
operato rs .
(3} Emp loy ees when work ing in the inedible o ffal room
shall be paid 27c per ho ur extra. Employees when engaged in
hanging live birds other tha n in the dock area up to the final bird
i ns p ect ion in the evisceration area (inclusi ve) sha ll be paid 27c
per hour.
(4) Employees who are requ ired to launder working clothes
supplied by t he employer shall be pa id an allowance of $8. 73 per
wee k.
(5} Emp l oy ees ca tch i ng live birds on fa rms sha ll be pa id an
allowance of 27c per hour while so engaged.
(6) Emp l oyees wh en engaged in hanging li ve birds in the
dock area shall be paid an allowance of 34c per hour.
(7) Where employees are required to hang live birds wh ich
are both wet and dirty by withdrawing t he birds from the sides of
cages and whe re t he time so spent exceeds one hour per day or
sh i ft such empl oyees shall be paid an additional allowance at a
ra te of 37c per hour for the actual time so spent (includi ng the
one hour mention ed ) with a minimum daily payment of 87c.".
