2002
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe
the fees and travelling expenses payable to
members of the Reference Areas Advisory
Committee or persons co-opted to assist sub-
committees of the committee.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 8 of the
Reference Areas Act 1978.
3. Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on
10 March 2002.
4. Revocation
The Reference Areas (Advisory Committee -
Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations 19921
are revoked.

5. Fees and expenses in relation to the Reference Areas
Advisory Committee
(1) For the purposes of section 5(10) of the
Reference Areas Act 1978—
(a) the prescribed fee, in the case of the
Chairperson, is $260 for each day during
which he or she attends any meeting of the
committee or sub-committee; and
(b) the prescribed fee, in the case of any other
member of the committee or a person co-
opted to assist a sub-committee, is $200 for
each day during which he or she attends any
meeting of the committee or sub-committee.
(2) For the purposes of section 5(10) of the
Reference Areas Act 1978, the prescribed
travelling expenses in the case of a member of the
committee, or a person co-opted to assist a sub-
committee, who incurs expenses for travel in
carrying out his or her duties are—
(a) if he or she uses his or her private vehicle for
that travel, an amount calculated using the
appropriate rate set out in Table 1.

travel, an amount for a meal or
accommodation in accordance with Table 2.
