No. 42/2001 Evidence Act 1958 Evidence (Examination of Witnesses Outside the State) Regulations 2001 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 22 May 2001 Responsible Minister: ROBERT HULLS Attorney-General HELEN DOYE Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe the courts and persons in the other States and Territories that are to be judicial authorities for the purposes of section 9G of the Evidence Act 1958. 2. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 9G and 152 of the Evidence Act 1958. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 28 May 2001. 4. Revocation The Evidence (Examination of Witnesses Outside the State) Regulations 1991 1 are revoked. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. Judicial authorities prescribed For the purposes of section 9G of the Evidence Act 1958, a court or person set out in Column 2 of the Table is prescribed as an appropriate judicial authority for the State or Territory set out beside that court or person in Column 1 of the Table.
