No. 169/2001 Food Act 1984 Food (Competency Standards Body) Regulations 2001 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 18 December 2001 Responsible Minister: JOHN THWAITES Minister for Health HELEN DOYE Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to specify the relevant statutory body to approve food safety competency standards in particular cases for the purposes of the Food Act 1984. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 63 of the Food Act 1984. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 January 2002. 4. Food safety competency standards body -- 2 of 3 -- S.R. No. 169/2001 Food (Competency Standards Body) Regulations 2001 2 For the purposes of section 19G(2) of the Food Act 1984— (a) the Australian National Training Authority established by section 5 of the Australian National Training Authority Act 1992 of the Commonwealth; or (b) if the name of that Authority is changed by regulations made for the purposes of section 50(1) of the Commonwealth Act, that Authority as known by the new name provided by those regulations— is specified as the relevant statutory body to approve food safety competency standards with respect to the following premises— (c) food premises from which services are provided to— (i) aged care facilities; or (ii) child care facilities; or (iii) hospitals and other health care facilities; (d) food premises operating within the hospitality industry; (e) food manufacturing and processing premises; (f) retail food premises; (g) wholesale food premises. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 3 --
