Patriotic Funds Regulations 2001
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is—
(a) to prescribe a time limit for the payment of
patriotic fund money into an account with an
authorised deposit-taking institution; and
(b) to provide for travelling expenses payable to
members of the Patriotic Funds Council of
Victoria.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 31 of
the Patriotic Funds Act 1958.
3. Revocation
The Patriotic Funds Regulations 19921 and the
Patriotic Funds (Travelling Expenses) Regulations
19982 are revoked.

4. Travelling expenses: private vehicle
For the purposes of section 4(6) of the Patriotic
Funds Act 1958, a member of the Council who—
(a) incurs expenses for travel—
(i) between the member's usual place of
residence or business and the place
where the Council is meeting; or
(ii) in exercising any other powers, duties
or functions of the Council under the
Act; and
(b) uses his or her private vehicle for that
travel—
is entitled to be paid an amount calculated using
the appropriate rate set out in the Table.

5. Travelling expenses: public transport
For the purposes of section 4(6) of the Patriotic
Funds Act 1958, a member of the Council who—

(a) incurs expenses for travel—
(i) between the member's usual place of
residence or business and the place
where the Council is meeting; or
(ii) in exercising any other powers, duties
or functions of the Council under the
Act; and
(b) uses public transport, that is reasonable and
appropriate in the circumstances, for that
travel—
is entitled to be reimbursed for the amount paid
for the travel up to the maximum amount set out
in the Table for the particular type of travel.

6. Prescribed time limit
For the purposes of section 21(1) of the Patriotic
Funds Act 1958, the prescribed time is 7 days
beginning on the day on which the money is
received by or on behalf of the trustees of a
patriotic fund.
