No. 83/2000 Gas Safety Act 1997 Gas Safety (Gas Quality) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 22 August 2000 Responsible Minister: CANDY BROAD Minister for Energy and Resources HELEN DOYE Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe new standards of quality for natural gas conveyed in transmission and distribution pipelines. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 118 of the Gas Safety Act 1997. 3. New definition inserted In regulation 4 of the Gas Safety (Gas Quality) Regulations 1999 1 , after the definition of "heating value" insert— ' "inert gas" means any substance which exists predominantly in a gaseous state at 15ºC temperature and 101·325 kPa absolute pressure and which remains substantially -- 2 of 5 -- S.R.
