No. 57/2000 Health Act 1958 Health (Exempt Businesses) Regulations 2000 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 27 June 2000 Responsible Minister: JOHN THWAITES Minister for Health HELEN DOYE Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe those businesses that are exempted from the requirements for registration with a municipal council under section 366C of the Health Act 1958. 2. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2000. 3. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 390(1) and 391 of the Health Act 1958. 4. Revocation The Health (Exempt Businesses) (Amendment) Regulations 1999 1 are revoked. -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. No. 57/2000 Health (Exempt Businesses) Regulations 2000 2 5. Exempt businesses For the purposes of section 366C(2) of the Health Act 1958, the following businesses are prescribed as exempt businesses— (a) the practice of a person registered under Part 2 of the Dental Practice Act 1999 in the dentists' division of the register; (b) the practice of a person registered as a medical practitioner under the Medical Practice Act 1994; (c) the practice of a person registered as a nurse under the Nurses Act 1993; (d) the practice of a person registered as a podiatrist under the Podiatrists Registration Act 1997; (e) a pathology service accredited by the Pathology Services Accreditation Board under the Pathology Services Accreditation Act 1984; (f) the business of a mobile hairdresser, except in relation to the principal place of business of the hairdresser; (g) the business of a mobile beautician or mobile beauty therapist, except in relation to the principal place of business of the beautician or beauty therapist; (h) any part of the chiropractic practice of a person registered under the Chiropractors Registration Act 1996 that involves acupuncture in the normal course of the practise of chiropractic; (i) any part of the optometry practice of a person registered under the Optometrists Registration Act 1996 that involves r. 5 -- 3 of 5 -- S.R. No. 57/2000 Health (Exempt Businesses) Regulations 2000 3 acupuncture in the normal course of the practise of optometry; (j) any part of the osteopathic practice of a person registered under the Osteopaths Registration Act 1996 that involves acupuncture in the normal course of the practise of osteopathy; (k) any part of the physiotherapy practice of a person registered under the Physiotherapists Registration Act 1998 that involves acupuncture in the normal course of the practise of physiotherapy. ═══════════════ r. 5 -- 4 of 5 -- S.R.
