No. 19/1999 Gas Industry Act 1994 Gas Industry (MSO Rules) Regulations 1999 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 23 February 1999 Responsible Minister: ALAN R. Objective The objective of these Regulations for the purposes of section 48Q of the Gas Industry Act 1994 is— (a) to provide that certain provisions of the MSO Rules are civil penalty provisions; and (b) to prescribe the maximum pecuniary penalty that a court may determine is payable by a person who contravenes a civil penalty provision. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 102(1A) and (1B) of the Gas Industry Act 1994. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 March 1999. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. Civil penalty provisions A provision of the MSO Rules set out in column 2 of an item in the Schedule is, for the purposes of those Rules, a civil penalty provision. 5. Pecuniary penalties The amount specified in column 3 of an item in the Schedule is the maximum pecuniary penalty that a court may determine is payable by a person who has contravened the provision specified in column 2 of that item. __________________ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
