No. 45/1999 Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Victoria) Act 1998 Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Victoria) (Temporary Exemptions) Regulations 1999 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 28 April 1999 Responsible Minister: JEFFREY GIBB KENNETT Premier of Victoria BILL ZISIMOPOULOS Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to declare certain laws of Victoria relating to the energy efficiency of certain electrical equipment to be exempt from the operation of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 of the Commonwealth as adopted by the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Victoria) Act 1998. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 5 of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Victoria) Act 1998. 3. Temporary exemptions relating to electrical equipment The following laws are, for the purpose of section 46 of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 of the Commonwealth as adopted by the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Victoria) Act 1998, declared to be exempt from the operation of the Commonwealth Act to the extent that they relate to electrical equipment— (a) Part 5 of the Electricity Safety Act 1998; (b) the Electricity Safety (Equipment Efficiency) Regulations 1999; (c) Orders in Council made under section 67 of the Electricity Safety Act 1998. 5. Expiry These Regulations cease to have any force or effect on 2 May 2000. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 3 --
