No. 85/1997 Club Keno Act 1993 Tattersall Consultations Act 1958 Club Keno (Amendment) Regulations 1997 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 26 August 1997 Responsible Minister: ROGER M. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Club Keno Regulations 19941 — (a) to substitute a new Prize Table in the Schedule and amend the rules of club keno accordingly; and (b) to provide that in addition to the prizes specified in the Prize Table, bonus prizes which have been approved from time to time by the Director may also be awarded; and (c) to revoke an obsolete provision; and (d) to amend references to certain position titles. -- 2 of 8 -- S.R. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 3 and 15 of the Club Keno Act 1993 and section 11 of the Tattersall Consultations Act 1958. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 September 1997. 4. Principal Regulations In these Regulations, the Club Keno Regulations 1994 are called the Principal Regulations. 5. Amendment of the rules of club keno (1) In regulation 6(1) of the Principal Regulations, for paragraph (a) substitute— "(a) a player enters a club keno game by buying a ticket and selecting 15 numbers or up to 10 numbers from the numbers 1 to 80 inclusive;". (2) In regulation 6(1) of the Principal Regulations, for paragraphs (d) and (e) substitute— "(d) a player who has selected a spot 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 15 which does not include any of the numbers drawn in a club keno game wins the prize referred to opposite it in column 3 of the Table in the Schedule; (e) a player who selects a spot 7 which is a match 7 or who selects a spot 8 which is a match 8 or who selects a spot 10 which is a match 10 wins the jackpot prize referred to opposite it in column 3 of the Table in the Schedule;". (3) In regulation 6(1) of the Principal Regulations, for paragraph (g) substitute— r. 2 -- 3 of 8 -- S.R. No. 85/1997 Club Keno (Amendment) Regulations 1997 3 "(g) a player who has selected a spot which is a match for which the Director has approved a bonus prize under sub-regulation (1A) wins a bonus prize for the most numbers selected by the player which make the match; (h) a player who has selected a spot which does not include any of the numbers drawn in a club keno game in respect of which the Director has approved a bonus prize for no match under sub-regulation (1A) wins a bonus prize; (i) if a bonus prize approved by the Director under sub-regulation (1A) is not won in a game of club keno, the bonus prize jackpots to succeeding games in respect of which the Director has approved a bonus prize until won.". (4) In regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations, for sub-regulations (1A) and (1B) substitute— "(1A) The Director may approve the payment of bonus prizes in the circumstances and amount and on the club keno games specified in the approval.". (5) In regulation 6(2) of the Principal Regulations, after "club keno game" insert "and a brochure setting out the Table in the Schedule and bonus prizes approved from time to time by the Director". 6. Revocation Regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations is revoked. r. 6 -- 4 of 8 -- S.R. No. 85/1997 Club Keno (Amendment) Regulations 1997 4 7. Change of position titles (1) In regulation 17(a) of the Principal Regulations, for "Manager, Compliance and Investigation" substitute "Manager, Gaming Operations". (2) In regulation 17(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "Manager, Systems and Audit" substitute "Manager, Gambling Operations and Audit". 8. Insertion of new regulation 18 After regulation 17 of the Principal Regulations insert— "18. Transitional These Regulations as amended by the Club Keno (Amendment) Regulations 1997 apply to club keno games in which tickets were bought after the commencement of those Regulations.". 9.
