No. 6/1997 Education Act 1958 Education (Maintenance Allowance) Regulations 1997 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 28 January 1997 Responsible Minister: PHILLIP GUDE Minister for Education A. WILTSHIRE Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend regulation 11 of the Education Regulations 1988 in relation to the education maintenance allowance. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 82 of the Education Act 1958. 3. Amendment of regulation 11 For regulation 11.4(10) of the Education Regulations 1988 1 substitute— "(10) Each education maintenance allowance is payable as follows— (a) half to the applicant; (b) half to— -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 6/1997 Education (Maintenance Allowance) Regulations 1997 2 (i) if the allowance is for a person attending a State school, the school council of the school; or (ii) if the allowance is for a person attending a registered school, the governing body of the school.". 4. Sunsetting These Regulations expire on 31 July 1997 and after that day the Education Regulations 1988 have effect as if these Regulations had never been made. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
