No. 57/1997 Financial Management Act 1994 Financial Management (Amendment) Regulations 1997 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 24 June 1997 Responsible Minister: ROGER M. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Financial Management Regulations 1994— (a) to clarify that— (i) directions under the Financial Management Act 1994 may be given to any authority, public body, accountable officer or chief finance and accounting officer; and (ii) the bodies set out in the Schedule to those regulations are authorities for the purposes of that Act; and (b) to remove a reference to an authority that has been abolished. -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 57/1997 Financial Management (Amendment) Regulations 1997 2 2. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 8 and 59 of the Financial Management Act 1994. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 30 June 1997. 4. New regulation 5 substituted For regulation 5 of the Financial Management Regulations 1994 1 substitute— "5. Application (1) These Regulations (other than Part 4) apply to— (a) all departments; and (b) the bodies set out in the Schedule with respect to the money specified in the Schedule. (2) Part 4 applies to all authorities, public bodies, accountable officers and chief finance and accounting officers. (3) The bodies set out in the Schedule are prescribed as authorities for the purposes of the Act.". 5. Amendment of Schedule In the Schedule to the Financial Management Regulations 1994 omit— "Victorian Prisons Industries Commission Money forming part of the Public Account". ═══════════════ r. 2 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
