Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Gas and Fuel Corporation (Supply) Regulations 1988 because of amendments made to the Gas Industry Act 1994. 2. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 102 and 105 of the Gas Industry Act 1994. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on the day on which section 5 of the Gas Industry (Further Amendment) Act 1997 comes into operation. -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. Amendment of Gas and Fuel Corporation (Supply) Regulations 1988 In the Gas and Fuel Corporation (Supply) Regulations 1988 1 — (a) in regulation 2— (i) in paragraph (a) for "the Corporation" substitute "gas transmission companies, gas distribution companies and gas retailers"; (ii) in paragraph (b) for "the Corporation" substitute "gas transmission companies"; (iii) paragraph (c) is revoked. (b) in regulation 8(1) for "the Corporation" substitute "a gas transmission company, a gas distribution company or a gas retailer"; (c) in regulation 8(2)— (i) for "The Corporation" substitute "A gas transmission company, a gas distribution company or a gas retailer"; (ii) after "supplied" insert "by it"; (d) in regulation 9(1) and (4) for "The Corporation" substitute "VENCorp"; (e) in regulation 9(2) and (3) for "the Corporation" substitute "VENCorp"; (f) in regulation 10 for "The Corporation" substitute "VENCorp"; (g) in regulation 11(1) for "the Corporation" substitute "a gas transmission company"; (h) in regulation 11(2) for "The Corporation" substitute "A gas transmission company"; (i) in regulation 13— r. 4 -- 3 of 5 -- S.R. No. 147/1997 Gas and Fuel Corporation (Supply) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 3 (i) for "The Corporation" substitute "A gas transmission company"; (ii) after "each consumer" insert "to which the company supplies gas"; (j) in regulations 14, 15, 16 and 17— (i) for "the Corporation" (wherever occurring) substitute "a gas transmission company"; (ii) omit "or that officer's nominee" (wherever occurring); (k) in regulation 20— (i) for "The Corporation" substitute "A gas retailer"; (ii) for "the Corporation" substitute "that gas retailer"; (l) regulation 21 is revoked; (m) in regulations 22, 23 and 24 for "The Corporation" (wherever occurring) substitute "A gas retailer"; (n) Parts 5 and 7 are revoked. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 4 of 5 -- S.R.
