No. 43/1997 Liquor Control Act 1987 Liquor Control (Prescribed Substances) Regulations 1997 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 27 May 1997 Responsible Minister: LOUISE ASHER Minister for Small Business SHARNE BRYAN Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe a substance as being liquor for the purposes of the definition of "liquor" in section 3 of the Liquor Control Act 1987. 2. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under sections 3 and 160 of the Liquor Control Act 1987. 3. Definitions In these Regulations— "Act" means the Liquor Control Act 1987; "alcohol based food essence" means a food flavouring preparation in liquid form that is packaged— -- 2 of 3 -- S.R. No. 43/1997 Liquor Control (Prescribed Substances) Regulations 1997 2 (a) in the case of vanilla essence (whether natural or imitation)—in a container of more than 100 millilitres capacity; (b) in any other case in a container of more than 50 millilitres capacity. 4. Prescribed substance to be liquor For the purposes of the definition of "liquor" in section 3 of the Act, an alcohol based food essence that is sold or disposed of at retail is prescribed as being liquor. ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 3 --
