No. 120/1996 Fisheries Act 1968 Fisheries (Recreational) (Macquarie Perch at Lake Eildon) Regulations 1996 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 6 November 1996 Responsible Minister: PATRICK McNAMARA Minister for Agriculture and Resources A. WILTSHIRE Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prohibit the taking of Macquarie perch from Lake Eildon and its inflowing waters to support the provisions of an Order under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 81 of the Fisheries Act 1968. 3. Insertion of regulation 19A After regulation 19 of the Fisheries (Recreational) Regulations 1992 1 insert— -- 2 of 4 -- S.R. No. 120/1996 Fisheries (Recreational) (Macquarie Perch at Lake Eildon) Regulations 1996 2 "19A. Macquarie perch not to be taken from Lake Eildon A person must not take, or attempt to take, any Macquarie perch from Lake Eildon, or from any waters flowing into Lake Eildon, before 18 December 1999. Penalty: 20 penalty units.". 4. Repeal of spent provision In the Table in regulation 18 of the Fisheries (Recreational) Regulations 1992— (a) in Column 2, omit "Lake Eildon and its inflowing waters"; and (b) in Column 3, omit "1 September 1993 to 31 August 1996". ═══════════════ r. 4 -- 3 of 4 -- S.R.
