No. 54/1996 Education Act 1958 Registered Schools Board Regulations 1996 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 25 June 1996 Responsible Minister: PHILLIP GUDE Minister for Education A. WILTSHIRE Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objectives The objectives of these Regulations are to prescribe meeting procedures for the Registered Schools Board and to prescribe the form in which applications are to be made to the Board. 2. Authorising provisions These Regulations are made under section 37 of the Education Act 1958. 3. Definitions In these Regulations— "Act" means the Education Act 1958; "Board" means the Registered Schools Board. 4. Meetings of the Board (1) The quorum for any meeting of the Board shall consist of four members of the Board. -- 2 of 6 -- S.R. No. 54/1996 Registered Schools Board Regulations 1996 2 (2) In the event of an equality of votes at any meeting of the Board, the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote. 5. Applications to the Board (1) For the purposes of section 42(1B) of the Act, the form of application is that set out in Schedule 1. (2) For the purposes of section 42(2) of the Act, the form of application is that set out in Schedule 2. __________________ r. 5 -- 3 of 6 -- S.R. No. 54/1996 Registered Schools Board Regulations 1996 3 SCHEDULES SCHEDULE 1 Application for approval to open a school The proposed name of the school: The address of the proposed school: The name of the proprietor (whether personal or incorporated body): The name of the president of the governing body of the proposed school: The name of the principal or head teacher: The postal addresses of the proprietor, president and principal: Telephone numbers for the proprietor, president and principal: Facsimile transmission numbers for the proprietor, president and principal: The proposed date of the opening of the school: Any religious or other affiliation of the proposed school: The proposed physical facilities to be used by the school: If available, a copy of the occupancy permit under Part 5 of the Building Act 1993, or any equivalent permit, certificate or approval, approving the proposed school premises as fit for occupancy as a school: The proposed education levels to be offered by the school for each of the next five years: The projected enrolment of the school at each of the proposed education levels: The names of the proposed teaching staff to be employed at the school, including qualifications and registration numbers, where known: Details of the school policy, philosophy and organisation: Details of the curriculum to be offered by the school: The signature of the proprietor, president or principal: __________________ Sch. 1 -- 4 of 6 -- S.R.
