No. 83/1996 Road Safety Act 1986 Road Safety (Procedures) (Sign Penalties) Regulations 1996 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 20 August 1996 Responsible Minister: GEOFF CRAIGE Minister for Roads and Ports N. C. WHITE Acting Clerk of the Executive Council 1. Objective The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Procedures) Regulations 1988 and the Road Safety (Traffic) Regulations 1988 to restructure the penalties for disobeying traffic signs and to make consequential amendments. 2. Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986. 3. Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 20 August 1996. 4. Amendment of Schedule 3 In item 5 of Schedule 3 to the Road Safety (Procedures) Regulations 19881 — -- 2 of 5 -- S.R. No. 83/1996 Road Safety (Procedures) (Sign Penalties) Regulations 1996 2 (a) in Column 2, after "402" insert "(3), (4), (6), (7), (10), (11), (13), (14), (17), (18), (19), (29)"; (b) in Column 4 for— "2101 2102 2103 2137" substitute— "2101 2137 2502 2503 2505 2506 2507 2508". 5. Amendment of Schedule 6 In Schedule 6 to the Road Safety (Procedures) Regulations 1988— (a) in the sub-heading "Signs and Signals" omit "Signs and"; (b) omit the entries in respect of Codes 2102 and 2103; (c) after the entry in respect of Code 2483 insert— "Signs 2501 Fail to obey turn prohibition or requirement sign RS (T) R 402(1), (2), (5), (16), (23), (28), (30) 105 2502 Fail to obey one way or do not enter sign RS (T) R 402(3), (4) 165 2503 Fail to obey no overtaking or passing or no overtaking on bridge sign RS (T) R 402(6), (7) 165 2504 Fail to obey keep left or keep right sign RS (T) R 402(8), (9) 105 2505 Fail to obey stop, stop here on red signal or stop here on red arrow sign RS (T) R 402(10), (11), (17), (29) 165 2506 Fail to obey give way sign RS (T) R 402(13), (14) 165 2507 Fail to obey emergency RS (T) R 402(18) 165 r. 5 -- 3 of 5 -- S.R.
