i Bushfires Royal Commission (Report) Act 2009 No. 18 of 2009 TABLE OF PROVISIONS Section Page 1 Purpose 1 2 Commencement 1 3 Definitions 2 4 Publication of Report 2 ═══════════════ ENDNOTES 4 -- 1 of 5 -- 1 Bushfires Royal Commission (Report) Act 2009 † No. 18 of 2009 [Assented to 10 June 2009] The Parliament of Victoria enacts: 1 Purpose The purpose of this Act is to make provision for the publication of a Report of the Bushfires Royal Commission. 2 Commencement This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent. Victoria -- 2 of 5 -- Bushfires Royal Commission (Report) Act 2009 No. 18 of 2009 2 3 Definitions In this Act— Bushfires Inquiry means the inquiry conducted by the Commissioners in accordance with the Letters Patent; Commissioners means the Commissioners appointed under section 88B of the Constitution Act 1975 by the Letters Patent; Letters Patent means Letters Patent dated 16 February 2009, a copy of which was published in the Government Gazette on that date, as amended from time to time. 4 Publication of Report (1) On the receipt by the Governor of a copy of a Report from the Commissioners of the results of the Bushfires Inquiry and their recommendations, the Minister must— (a) give a copy of the Report to the clerk of each House of the Parliament; and (b) cause the Report to be published by the Government Printer. (2) A copy of the Report given to the clerk of a House of the Parliament under subsection (1)(a)— (a) is deemed to have been ordered by the House to be printed; and (b) as published must be tabled in the House on the next sitting day of the House. (3) If a Report is received by the clerk of a House of the Parliament under subsection (1)(a), the clerk must— s. 3 -- 3 of 5 -- Bushfires Royal Commission (Report) Act 2009 No. 18 of 2009 3 (a) as soon as practicable after the Report is received, notify each member of the House of the receipt of the Report and advise that the Report is available upon request; and (b) give a copy of the Report to any member of the House upon request to the clerk.
