Victoria -- 2 of 5 -- Education and Training Reform Amendment (School Age) Act 2009 No. 62 of 2009 2 3 Principal Act In this Act, the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 is called the Principal Act. 4 Definitions (1) In section 1.1.3 of the Principal Act, in the definition of compulsory school age, for "16 years" substitute "17 years". (2) In section 1.1.3 of the Principal Act, in the definition of post-compulsory education, for "16 years" substitute "17 years". 5 Attendance at school In section 2.1.1 of the Principal Act, for "16 years" substitute "17 years". 6 What is a reasonable excuse? For section 2.1.3(c) of the Principal Act substitute— "(c) the child is participating in education or training, or employment, or both, in accordance with an Order made by the Minister for the purposes of this paragraph;". s. 3 See: Act No. 24/2006.
