i Cancer Amendment (HPV) Act 2008 No. 37 of 2008 TABLE OF PROVISIONS Section Page 1 Purpose 1 2 Commencement 1 3 Definition of cancer test 2 4 Registers of results from cancer tests 2 5 Repeal of Act 2 ═══════════════ ENDNOTES 3 -- 1 of 4 -- 1 Cancer Amendment (HPV) Act 2008 † No. 37 of 2008 [Assented to 26 August 2008] The Parliament of Victoria enacts: 1 Purpose The purpose of this Act is to amend the Cancer Act 1958 to enable reports of tests in relation to precursors to cancer, such as human papilloma virus (HPV), to be forwarded to organisations that maintain a prescribed register. 2 Commencement This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent. Victoria -- 2 of 4 -- Cancer Amendment (HPV) Act 2008 No. 37 of 2008 2 3 Definition of cancer test In section 59(1) of the Cancer Act 1958, in the definition of cancer test, after "suffering from cancer" insert "or any of its precursors". 4 Registers of results from cancer tests In sections 62(4), 62(5)(c) and 62(9)(b) of the Cancer Act 1958, after "cancer" insert "or any of its precursors". 5 Repeal of Act This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of its commencement. Note The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984). ═══════════════ s. 3 See: Act No. 6213.
