Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Amendment Act 2007 No. 41 of 2007 TABLE OF PROVISIONS Section Page 1 Purpose 1 2 Commencement 1 3 Amendment of section 3—definitions 2 4 Amendment of section 3—definitions 2 ═══════════════ ENDNOTES 3 i -- 1 of 4 -- Victoria Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Amendment Act 2007† No. 41 of 2007 [Assented to 28 August 2007] The Parliament of Victoria enacts: 1 Purpose The purpose of this Act is to amend the Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Act 1968 to limit any increase in the salary payable to members of the Parliament of Victoria in the current financial year to 3⋅25 %. 2 Commencement (1) This Act, other than section 4, is deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 2007. 1 -- 2 of 4 -- Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Amendment Act 2007 No. 41 of 2007 s. 3 (2) Section 4 comes into operation on a day to be proclaimed. Note See the note at the foot of section 4. 3 Amendment of section 3—definitions In section 3 of the Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Act 1968, in the definition of basic salary for "$1442" substitute "$5733". LawToday: www. legislation. vic.gov.au 4 Amendment of section 3—definitions In section 3 of the Parliamentary Salaries and Superannuation Act 1968, in the definition of basic salary for "$5733" substitute "$1442". Note Section 4 would only be proclaimed if the relevant determinations of the Federal Remuneration Tribunal with respect to the amount of the annual allowance by way of salary payable with effect from 1 July 2007 to members of the House of Representatives were disapproved of under the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973 of the Commonwealth.
