Constitution (Governor's Salary) Act
2002 †
[Assented to 23 April 2002]
The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to increase the amount
of annual salary payable to future Governors as a
consequence of their salary being subject to
income tax.
2. Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3. Amendment of section 7
(1) In section 7(1) of the Constitution Act 1975, the
expression commencing "less" and ending at the
end of the sub-section is repealed.
(2) At the end of section 7 of the Constitution Act
1975 insert—
"(3) Despite the commencement of the
amendment of sub-section (1) made by
section 3(1) of the Constitution
(Governor's Salary) Act 2002,
sub-section (1) (as in force immediately
before the commencement of that Act)
continues to apply during the continuance in
office after that commencement of the
person who held office as Governor on
28 June 2001.".
